Week IX

As part of Her Majesty's XCII birthday celebration, we decided to have purple hues in our vase, and we achieved that by having phlox and clematis as the main feature of this arrangement. All beautifully crafted by Jamie, master of flowers.
This was quite a neat and clean arrangement. During the first days the flowers were perhaps too fresh and they seemed not to have an aroma. But by Thursday the phlox had blossomed and it had a lovely sweet scent.
This was also the third time we have had lisianthus. On all three occasions we have had it in different colours. It is surprising how versatile lisianthus can be, and its pale green of this week was a perfect accompaniment. The finishing touch were the thistles, which gave our vase a distinctly Scottish vibe.
