Week XI

We needed something fresh for the week because the weather in St Andrews had been extremely warm, and it continued that way the whole week. Here, the spray roses have the liveliest tone making a beautiful combination with the white of the zantedeschia and of the ornithogalum thyrsoides.
Precisely because the days were very warm and sunny, the heat was too much even for this Spring bouquet. Making the syringa and the spray roses wilt quite quickly, which is why I decided to upload an image of the arrangement on its first day, when it looked its most fresh. The only downside of uploading an early image is that one cannot see how beautifully the ornithogalum thyrsoides blossomed. Such a beautiful flower!
It should be said that even though the syringa was quick to wilt in its fight against the heat, it was the only flower that had a slight scent. Kudos go to the zantedeschia for remaining fresh the whole week; I truly love their shape and elegance.
Lastly, as an innovative feature, the filler was mostly pistache foliage.
